Capital Health CEO Dr Mishal Al Kasimi said the agreement is a huge step in raising the level of healthcare in Abu Dhabi and the country.
The Capital will have the region's first purpose-built rehabilitation hospital, as per an agreement signed by the UAE-based Capital Health on Wednesday with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
The partnership will see the delivery of SRALab’s world-renowned model of care at Capital Health’s Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH) in Abu Dhabi. Set to open later this year, the hospital - a first of its kind in the region - is designed in response to the UAE’s Vision 2021 to achieve a world-class healthcare system, and ensure that local patients no longer have to travel abroad to receive the very best treatment and care.
If someone asked who the most influential person at our company is, many people would be quick to name the CEO. It’s a reasonable assumption. But perhaps the opportunity to carry the flag for the brand didn’t need to fall to the CEO alone.
We see our employees as our brand advocates because, as a service-based entity, you're the faces that people see. You are our biggest assets and we want to empower you to share your passion for the company through the ambassador program. Your embody our company’s culture and values, and your networks can be larger than the company's followers on social networks

The Year of "Execution"
Year 2018 is upon us. The significance of this new dawn for Capital Health cannot be over-emphasized. This year Abu Dhabi in particular and the UAE in general will celebrate the introduction of a new way to practice healthcare with the opening of both Health Shield Medical Center and Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital.
Though the bricks and mortar and technical equipment are essential resources for our organization, the heart and soul of Capital Health and its facilities is its people.
It is our physicians, nurses, care givers, and other dedicated team members who, every day, combine compassion and integrity with the marvel of technology to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
We have more than doubled our size in the year that passed and the company has transitioned with the country and region’s needs; now we gear up to serve the local population and the multitude of visitors who come to Abu Dhabi.
UAE residents will soon be able to access long-term rehabilitation care at a new hospital in the capital.
People living with disabilities as a result of motor vehicle accidents, falls at work or strokes currently have to go to multi-disciplinary centres, private clinics or wards at government institutions, for rehabilitation care. Many chose to go abroad for more complete care.
Driven by that need, Capital Health is launching what will be the UAE’s first comprehensive rehabilitation hospital, building and designing it from scratch to fit that purpose. It will provide acute, sub-acute and long term rehabilitation with a capacity of 166 inpatient beds, and will serve outpatients as well.
